Our ClassesWe have the MOST creative class curriculum around with classes like “Sing & Swing” “Story Ballet” “Song & Dance” “Musical Theater” for kids of all ages. All of our childrens’ dance classes incorporate singing, dancing, drama, arts-crafts, props, costumes, storybooks, games and other surprises to keep them interested and engaged all season long. For students with the drive, talent and discipline, Broadway Arts Center proudly offers a unique program that provides more intense training and additional performance opportunities. We also offer a volunteer mentoring program for our Middle & High School dancers wishing to assist our Master teachers in the classroom. And while every student learns fundamental dance skills, we believe it’s much more than that. It’s about teaching children to find their voice and to be heard It’s about showing them to be proud of who they are and how to face challenges with courage and grace. It’s finding the unique gifts and talents within each child and allowing them to shine! It’s about developing positive self-esteem at a young age to carry them through life. And it’s about having FUN, making new friends and developing a lifelong love and appreciation for the performing arts. Our Dance InstructorsOur teachers LOVE what they do and it shows!! Our teachers not only have extensive backgrounds in Dance/Theater but they have degrees in EDUCATION allowing them to develop fun, creative AGE-APPROPRIATE classes that meet the developmental needs of each age level. At Broadway Arts Center you never have to worry about provocative music, moves or costumes choices. Our Simple Payment PlanMost studios charge up to 10 monthly fees a year PLUS Costume Fees/Performance Fees/Recital Tights/ Tickets, etc.. But our simple payment plan INCLUDES all those. We even give you 4 FREE tickets and FREE recital tights! You make just 4 payments for the whole season and that it! No Costume Fees! No Performance fees! No Monthly fees! Our PERFORMANCES!!Broadway Arts Center is very proud of its unique approach to children’s theater! No long, boring “recitals” here!! While most studios put on a “showcase” style end of the year show, we present an original Mini-Musical! In about an hour our story-based show will engage and delight students and audience alike! When the curtains go up and the spotlights go on, you will be treated to a semi-professional show with acting, singing and dancing allowing every child to shine! Every family receives 4 FREE tickets to the performance. Our StudioThe cozy Broadyway Arts studio is located in downtown Jefferson! We have ample parking and a clean, comfortable lobby. Our large VIEWING WINDOW allows you to watch your dancer’s progress each week. We are proud to show off our new state-of-the-art "Marely" dance floor which offers a superior surface for safety and comfort. Broadway Arts Center is a very organized, nurturing, positive place for your child to grow! ClassesWe offer a wide selections of classes to fit any age and skill level.Broadway Arts Center offers a wide variety of Dance & Theater class for children age 2-Adults. From our popular “Jump, Jiggle & Jive” toddler class to our show-stopping “Company” girls we have something for everyone! From toddlers to teens we have classes for all levels and abilities. Including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater and even Ballroom! We also offer many summer dance camps including Cinderella's Ball, Barbie Ballet, Hanna Montana and High School Musical! All of our classes are taught by experienced instructors with degrees in Education, Dance or related field. Our goal is to create classes that encourage children to be creative and confident while instilling a lifelong love of dance! Using imagery, music, props, costumes, crafts, story books and many more surprises, even our littlest dancers are inspired and engaged all season long! We take pride in offering creative, AGE-APPROPRIATE material that is fun and challenging. At Broadway Arts Center you never have to worry about music, moves or costumes that are too revealing, provocative or inappropriate. It is important for students to be placed in the appropriate age/level class for them to successful. Beginner students should register for the youngest class in their age range. The first month is considered a trial - Students may be moved to a higher or lower level at the Instructors discretion. We run many classes throughout the week so we can almost always accommodate your scheduling needs! For our class schedule and detailed descriptions please download our Class Schedule. Class RegistrationDownload, print and complete our registration form. Drop it off at the studio or mail it in with the registration fee. Our address is 122 Washington St. Suite 5, Jefferson, GA. SiblingsWe have many families with dancing siblings, so we know the unique joys and challenges multiple children can be on your schedule (and wallet)! For this reason we have very generous discounts on tuition for siblings. Like many studios, we perform multiple shows at the end of the year, and with so many families the task of arranging siblings together in the same show can be quite difficult! For this reason we have designated which class is in each show on our class schedule at the beginning of the year. So you can know upfront which classes to pick so that your kids are in the same show!
What to WearJust as a football player or cheerleader wears a uniform, dancers also require a special uniform to wear to class. This promotes class unity as well as sets the tone of our learning environment. Depending on the class, students will need a specific color/style leotard, tights, and proper dance shoes, long hair must be pulled up in a bun or ponytail, and all jewelry should be removed. Please call the the studio for your class requirements and to arrange for a fitting. For your convience, all required class uniforms will be purchased through Broadway Arts Center to avoid discrepencies in color/style of dance shoes and attire. Miss Cathy is a certified elementary school teacher with over 15 years experience teaching Dance and Theater. Her energy, patience, and creatively structured classes keep students coming back year after year! She began her early dance training in Massachusetts studying Ballet, Tap, and Jazz at The Milford School of Dance. As a member of the Sr. Company she performed in local and national competitions including "Dance Makers", "Talent America", and "îShow Stoppers".
