Dancers, Actors and Singers come SEIZE THE DAY and Audition for this incredible full-length (2 act) Musical!! Anyone in the community is welcome to audition on March 8 & 9 at Broadway Arts Center.

RESERVE YOUR AUDITION TIME TODAY!

A fEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU AUDITION..

LANGUAGE ADVISORY: This show has some MILD language that is consistent with the characters and time period of the story. We will be performing the script as written. It is a Disney show so it’s not anything outrageous but If you have concerns about the language, We encourage you to watch the Broadway Version of NEWSIES on Netflix Before you decide to audition.

AGES: This show is designed to be performed primarily by teens and adults. (See Character Breakdown Below) However, we will consider casting a few children under age 12 that display exceptional dance/ vocal talent and the temperament to handle the rigors of a full length musical. (FYI: BAC will be offering a 2-week Broadway Bootcamp for younger children to perform in this summer)

PARTICAPATION FEE: $50 per cast member This is only charged if you are cast in the show.

COSTUMES / SCRIPTS: Participants are responsible for purchasing their costumes. A digital copy of the script will be emailed to all participants. Cast members will print/bind their Scripts so they can write blocking notes in it at rehearsal.

AD SALES: It is extremely expensive to put on a show of this caliber. To keep participation fees as low as possible, we depend on Ad sales for our program. All cast families are required to obtain $75 worth of business ads (or personal message “shout outs”) for our digital program. Those who do not wish to sell ads can waive this requirement with a $75 donation.

VOLUNTEER JOBS: We need ALOT of help to put on a show of this caliber. We depend on cast families to contribute a little sweat equity into the production. From sewing costumes, building sets/props to ticket takers and child ranglers there is something for everyone to do!

REHEARSALS: The bulk of rehearsals will run May-July (Afternoons and/or Evenings) We may run some solo work or small scene work in Mar/April if we have folks available to get a head start. You most likely will not be needed at all rehearsals. The Time commitment depends on your part. We understand summers can be busy. When building our rehearsal schedule, we try to accommodate occasion conflicts (when possible) if they are given to us at auditions on your conflict calendar. Those seeking a lead need to be widely available t0 be considered.
