DRESS REHEARSAL: APRIL 13

The Dress Rehearsal is extremely important as it is the only chance the students have to get acclimated to the big stage! Students Are REQUIRED to attend the dress rehearsal to perform in the recital on Sunday. BAC has what the Theater industry calls an "Invited Dress rehearsal" which means it is NOT open to the General public so that staff and students can work out all the kinks without the added stress of a big audience. We invite one adult to accompany their dancer(s) to the rehearsal - any other guests or family members will be subject to a $10 entrance fee to enter the rehearsal.
Generally, We run a dress rehearsals for each of the 3 show times (2:00, 4;15 and 6:30) just like on Recital Day (Sunday) and you attend the same time as your showtime on Sunday. Your classes showtime is listed on the class schedule here. The showtime is the time the curtain opens – students need to arrive 30 ming EARLY (see below) so we can get everyone organized backstage and begin on time. (We have an incredibly tight schedule!)
You will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to your showtime with your COSTUME ON and HAIR & MAKE UP DONE and check into the backstage door (around the Lumpkin St side of the building)
Volunteers need to arrive 40 minutes early to be in place for when students arrive.
COMPANY MEMBERS: (Senior & Encore) have a blocking rehearsal at noon. Company members need to bring a snack, meal and water.
WHAT TO BRING:
It is very difficult to keep up with personal belongings backstage! PLEASE ARRIVE IN YOUR DANCE SHOES
Dancers in one number/costume - do not need to bring anything backstage. Arrive in your costume & dance shoes with Hair & Make up done.
Dancers with multiple numbers/costumes - Arrive in your first costume - bring your additional accessories, costumes, shoes in a garment bag ( label you name on all items & bag) . Please have your dance shoes ON before you check in (we cannot keep up with 200 pairs of street shoes back stage lol)
We will have extra hairspray, pins, nets. etc.. available in the bathroom. Food / Drinks are not allowed in the dressing rooms or backstage (there are water fountains in the dressing rooms) Make sure your name is labeled on EVERYTHING.
BAC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL BELONGINGS
When you check in your child to the backstage you will receive your “DANCE CARD” – this will act as your rehearsal pass and allow you into watch the rehearsal for free and is required to check out your Dancer afterwards. Once you drop off your child – you will proceed to the front entrance to watch the rehearsal . Any additional guests (siblings, parents, grandparents, friends) will be subject to a $10 admission fee to watch rehearsal. Full season students may watch a siblings rehearsal for free, as long as they are not in costume. There is a bathroom in the front lobby you can use to change – costume will need to be in a closed bag (the theater charges a $200 fee for glitter in the auditorium..YIKES)

DISMISSAL FROM REHEARSAL: We will dismiss students FROM THE STAGE after the rehearsal/show. One parent will be allowed to come backstage and pick up dancers. After the curtain closes – parents holding the dance card we gave at check in will be asked to line up against the wall of the auditorium – we will collect your dance card admit one parent at a time backstage to pick up their child and all their belongings (chaperones will bring all thier belongings up from the dressing rooms in a big bin) Once you reunite with your child you will need to exit out the backstage door and into the courtyard (not thru the auditorium) You can meet up with the rest of your party in courtyard or at your car. We will do this same procedure on recital day as well.
